Whether you’re an accomplished writer or a romance connoisseur who’d like to try your hand at crafting a script, this book gives you everything you need to to make it from outline to sale in the world of made-for-TV Christmas movies. They were strangers, but Dempsey felt led to make such. Writing a Made-for-TV Christmas Movie: The Unofficial Guide by Heather Hughes and Kate Wharton is a must-read. In addition, their blog/website is chock full of extra materials, and they are very responsive to comments from their readers. The Couple’s Love Story Went Viral Christopher Dempsey, who had served as a Marine, decided to donate part of his liver to Heather Krueger. At the same time I purchased this I purchased another book on screenwriting and it is SO DRY and wordy that I'd have to spend six months reading it and taking notes before I ever got around to doing anything, but Hughes and Wharton get you working right from the first chapter. The best part about reading this book is that the authors really make you feel like YOU CAN DO IT. ![]() I googled "Writing a Hallmark Christmas movie" and lo and behold, this book came up! I purchased it immediately and have been delighted with its completely accessible, step-by-step advice and directions for going from idea to finished screenplay and then on to registering and pitching the project. ![]() ![]() Last fall, when I decided I was going to write a cozy Christmas romance for Hallmark I had never written a screenplay before. ![]()
